Jhamil and Rich on the Olympic Peninsula West
About our adventure with @richbacon and @jhamil_bader
We invited Rich (@richbacon) and Jhamil (@jhamil_bader) to join us on a trip to the northwest corner of the Olympic Peninsula in April. They were chartered around by Olympic Hiking Co. (@hikeolympic) on a wonderful adventure!
On the first evening, the guys all met in Port Angeles and headed straight to the airport to take an evening flight-seeing tour with Rite Bros. Aviation over the northwestern Olympic Peninsula in a 3-seater plane. Then they spent their fight night in Port Angeles so they could get an early start the next morning.
After an early wake up to catch sunrise at Lake Crescent, the group continued on to the Lake Ozette Ranger station to begin the 9.4 mile round-trip hike on the Ozette Triangle Loop. They checked into beautiful Chito Beach Resort for the next two nights, and then headed to Cape Flattery, the most northwestern point in the contiguous USA for sunset.
The next morning, the guys headed back to Cape Flattery for sunrise, before heading out to the Shi Shi Beach trailhead to hike 4 miles to Point of the Arches during low tide. On the last day of their trip to the far Upper Left USA, Tommy took Jhamil and Rich to Sol Duc Falls to see one of the most iconic waterfalls in Olympic National Park during the spring high flow.
